I tried Boots' £55 summer beauty box packed with Elemis, REN and Sol de Janeiro

Worth £208, the Boots Summer Glow Getters Premium Beauty Box features some seriously impressive brands and products

Health and beauty retailer Boots has fast become the go-to for beauty boxes this year, having launched some stellar money-saving hauls in collaboration with the likes of REN, Elemis and Elizabeth Arden. And after selling out their Love Island box in just four days last week, the high street favourite wasted absolutely no time in releasing their latest box: the Summer Glow Getters Premium Beauty Box.

The bundle of summer-ready beauty products launched online on Friday, August 4, and if previous beauty boxes are anything to go by, it’s not going to stick around for long. Containing 16 premium and popular products with a total value of £208, shoppers can get their hands on the haul for just £55, saving around £153 on the overall value.

Boots’ latest beauty offering stars five full size products - one of which is £40 alone - as well as some fantastic sample and mini sizes so you can pop them in your travel bag and stay glowing on the go without the worry of airport liquid restrictions, either.

The newest Boots beauty box features a whopping 16 products that will get you glowing from head to toe. Beauty fans can enjoy five full-size products, such as the Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser and the Fenty Skin Buff Ryder Exfoliating Body Scrub, and much more. With contents worth over £200, this brilliant bundle will save you 74%. How good is that?

And when it comes to brands, customers can expect some huge names, including cult-loved Elemis, TikTok-approved Sol de Janeiro, Rihanna’s Fenty Skin, as well as REN and Laura Mercier.

Here at The Mirror we’ve reviewed a number of beauty boxes not just from Boots, but also brands like LookFantastic and Face The Future - and this Glow Getters bundle could be one of the best yet.

The hero product in this box has to be the Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser, which is worth £40 alone. This silicone-free moisturiser primes and hydrates to offer a dewy glow, and can be used as a daily moisturiser, a hydrating makeup primer or a highlighter to enhance the skin’s natural luminosity, making it the ultimate multi-use product.

I’ve previously used the moisturiser after receiving it in the LookFantastic beauty egg earlier this year, and it reminds me a lot of the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow face primer which is the same price for 20ml less product, making the Elemis option better value if you happen to love it as much as I do.

Another full-sized product in the box is the Grown Alchemist Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser with a stunning Geranium Leaf, Bergamot, Rosebud scent. At 200ml, it usually costs £33 and couldn’t have come at a better time since I’d just ran out of my Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm. I love to try new products, and after the first use of this cleanser I was hooked. The packaging is really minimal so it looks great when left out on the sink or shelf, and what’s more is that they have refillable pouches so you can reuse the bottle time and time again.

Despite being a fairly new brand at Boots, the cleanser has racked up over 1,600 five star reviews from shoppers who say it ‘smells gorgeous’ and cleanses the skin gently without feeling ‘stripped’.

Meanwhile the Seoulista Beauty Brightening Instant Facial is a sheet mask designed to leave your skin glowing. I find you can never have too many sheet masks because they’re perfect for that Sunday night pamper or when your skin needs that little boost. But one of the most exciting additions to the box had to be the Fenty Skin Buff Ryder Exfoliating Body Scrub , worth £28.

I love a summer body scrub and this one from Fenty uses sugar, salt, and superfine sand to form a gentle, but effective exfoliation superhero that smells delicious.

My least favourite full-size product, and probably the only one I’d be unlikely to use from the Glow Getters box was the Boots Glow Banana Peel and Polish for no other reason than the fact I don’t like the smell of bananas, so this one will be finding itself in my box of stocking fillers ready for Christmas - so not all is lost.

The Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream promises to make skin 'smoother and tighter' and has taken the internet by storm in recent months thanks to its results and tropical scent. I love the smell of this body butter and its little 25ml tub is perfect for taking on a summer break. Also the ultimate washbag companion is the relatively new Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Cream, which is a really light and moisturising formula that I’m looking forward to using long-term.

I’ve never taken great care of my hair, but ARKIVE could convert me with their The Good Habit Hybrid Oil, which has a beautiful texture and doesn’t feel like it builds up in my locks.

I recently finished a tube of the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer, so it was a joy to get another 10ml sample in this box so I can continue to put off buying a full size - but lord knows I will when the time comes because no other primer has ever made me feel so glowy without looking oily.

For those wondering what else is in the Boots Summer Glow Getters Premium Beauty Box, the full contents is as follows:

Some of the products I’m looking forward to trying include the REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic considering how much I love their body serum, and the Rituals The Ritual of Karma Shimmering Body Oil, which will leave skin glittering ready for a day at the beach or a night on the town.

For some, this may feel like ‘yet another beauty box’, but I do think that the price point is great for the value, and the brands featured are some real favourites that I wouldn’t typically just treat myself to for no reason. But when they’re packaged up in a money-saving deal this good, it’s far easier to justify that pre-payday pick me up.

The box is still in stock and exclusively available at Boots - you can bag the Summer Glow Getters Premium Beauty Box for yourself here for £55.
